PYCNOGENOL: Pycnogenol is the trade name for a group of bioflavonoids called proanthocyanidins. Although these flavonoids can be extracted from various foods such as fruits, grains vegetables and grape seed, pycnogenol is derived under patent, from the French maritime pine tree (Pinus Maritima).
The proanthocyanidins in pycnogenol are powerful antioxidants and free radical scavengers. In this respect, pycnogenol is a supernutrient supplement. It has been found to be fifty times better than Vitamin E and twenty times better than Vitamin C in scavenging free radicals.
