Magic 650 grams of vegetables rescued from heart disease

Eight servings of fruits and vegetables a day to protect people from heart disease, according to nutritionists in the UK. A little more than pound of fruits and vegetables a day reduces the risk of heart disease by almost a quarter.

Very particular are encouraged to eat at least 400 grams of fruit and vegetables a day, but, according to study authors, this may not be enough to maintain a healthy heart. As researchers found, people who eat eight or more servings of vegetables a day - more than 600 grams - 22 percent less likely to die from heart disease than those who eat about three servings - 250 g of vegetables - in the day.

One serving - it's medium carrots, a large apple or banana. According to scientists, reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease by almost a quarter - is very powerful. Especially because of its fairly easy to achieve - just include a menu of more fruit and vegetables without making the list potatoes.

By the way, and Russian nutritionists, and the World Health Organization (WHO) consider the norm of consumption of vegetables and fruits is just 600 grams per day.
