By excessive sebum production, coupled with a keratinization, acne clog the sebaceous glands, and there are the so-called blackheads (comedones). These can become inflamed by bacteria, pimples are formed. A distinction between open comedones (black heads), pimples closed comedones (whitish nodules) and pustules or (inflamed pimples).
